€80.00

The workshop will comprise of 2 sessions -Friday 10th of May, 7pm - 8.30pm, and Saturday 11th of May 11am - 1.30pm

Join artist Tadhg Ó Cuirrín for this introduction to cyanotype printing.

Cyanotype is a photographic printing process that was first invented in the 1840s. It involves the use of two safe chemicals that, when combined and exposed to sunlight, produces a cyan-blue print. The original 'blueprint'!

Participants will learn about the cyanotype process from start to finish and will have the opportunity to make a number of their own prints and experiment with different printing techniques. The workshop will take place over an evening and morning session on consecutive days.

The evening session will consist of an introduction to the process, and making the most of the darker evening conditions to prepare papers and fabrics with the printing solution. The following day participants will use sunlight to develop their own prints, and can experiment with various techniques and materials.

All materials will be provided

It's recommended participants wear old clothes on both days, as the process can be a little messy.
