Engage

Engage Art Studios is supported by the Arts Council and the Galway City Council.

Engage Art Studios is an artist-run studio space in Galway city centre. Founded in 2004, Engage supports contemporary artists in a supportive and active professional environment, located in the heart of old Galway.

Engage Art Studios launched a new exhibition project from April to December 2011. With the generous assistance of Oliver Niland and the Arts Council, Engage transformed a disused, ground level ‘slack space’ in Galway city centre into The Niland Gallery.

Exhibitions included curatorial projects by Mary Conlon, Charlotte Bosanquet, Mark Cullen and Tulca 2011 curated by Megs Morley, as well as Vis-á-vis with Monster Truck Studios during the Gal- way Arts Festival, What are you Thinking?, an Adapt Galway group show curated by Austin Ivers, a solo show by Declan Clarke, and partnerships with members of Groundworks and Artspace Studios.

For more information check out our exhibitions page, check out our blog and follow The Niland Gallery on Facebook.

The Niland Gallery has finished its season of programming for 2011. Thanks to all of our partners, everyone at Engage Art Studios, artists, curators and supporters, especially Oliver Niland and the Arts Council, without whose support the project would not have been possible.

And... Thanks to the Arts Council, please stayed tuned for future programming in 2012 as we create a platform for young and innovative curators through the presentation of several exhibitions, events, screenings and talks in the heart of Galway.
